The short version: we collect what hiring needs and nothing more, we never sell it, and applicant data is only ever used to evaluate the application it came with.
What we collect
If you create an account: your name, work email and organization, handled through our authentication provider (WorkOS).
If you apply to a job on a careers page we host: your name, email, CV, the GitHub URL you provide, your answers to screening questions, and your consent to processing.
If you use the contact form: your name, email, company and message.
Cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in and a preference cookie for your theme. No advertising or tracking cookies.
What we do with it
Application data exists to evaluate your application for the role you applied to. Our AI evaluation reads your CV, your public GitHub activity and your code, and produces a report for the hiring team. It is not used for anything else, and it is not used to train AI models.
Contact form messages go to our inbox so we can reply. Account data exists to operate your workspace.
Where it lives
CVs are stored in Cloudflare R2. Application records and reports live in our database. Emails are sent through Resend. AI evaluation runs on Anthropic's API. These providers process data on our behalf and no one else does.
Who can see it
Your application is visible to the hiring team of the company you applied to, scoped by their own roles and review-team settings. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else.
How long it is kept
Hiring companies configure how long archived candidate records are retained. When a configured period ends, an archived candidate record and its application data may be permanently erased.
A hiring company may keep records longer when a legal obligation or legal hold requires it. There is no universal retention period across every company using NextHires.
Your choices
Contact the hiring company about access to or erasure of your candidate data, since they control their hiring records. You can also email us and we will help route your request to the appropriate company.
Changes
We are an early-stage product and this policy will evolve. When it changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and the date above.
